Hand Written Sefer Kav HaYosher

I am pleased to offer this unique original handwritten of the Sefer Kav HaYashar, a work of mussar by Reb Zvi Hirsch Kaindenover (from the 1600's). This original handwritten manuscript is estimated as 1700-1724, although the coded hebrew date in the cover confirms it was completed in 1724. More than likely it was handwritten by a disciple of the author, who fled Europe for Yemen.

It consists of 180 pp. neat Yemenite handwritten script. Measures 16 x 12 cm. Thick rich paper with laid lines. Besides the title page and the last 13 leaves which have some worming, the book is in very good condition.

I have completely uploaded the whole Sefer KavHayosher to the internet. Manuscripts of ethical works are extremely rare in Yemen where the majority of the manuscripts were Hallachic & Prayers. Furthermore this specific manuscript is of great historic interest!

Especially that the eighteenth century was one of almost unbearable times for the Yemen Jews, bringing the 1724 famine, in addition to insidiously varied humiliations and violence. Fanatical rulers ordered synagogues destroyed, and public prayers were forbidden. Hence this hand written Sefer of ספר קב הישר KavHayashar which had obviously taken the writer many months to hand write, has an energy contained within which is inspiring to everyone.

That in the midst of troubles, famine and threats of death, when all around was fear of "doom and gloom" , the writer had faith, hope and belief in GOD and the eternal DIVINE spiritual world of souls that everything that happens with DIVINE decree and DIVINE purpose in everyones life.
